Some ideas that i thought about are: partnering with GrowZone to ensure that new visitors are able to get their children into childcare at least for the first time that they attend as they are not aware of how quickly those spaces fill up. Also, what about potentially having our own coffee or a way to access coffee that avoided the line at the cafe so we could give the visitors the white glove treatment and help them feel welcomed. Another thought i had was when Casey and I moved up to Cary, NC a few years ago, we visited a church who offered a brief gathering after the service for any visiting person for the 1st time to meet one of the pastors and learn more about the church and fill out visitor information for helping them to get involved. We went throught that process and ended up joining that church while we lived up there. Have we contacted any other churches that we think highly of to see what things they have successfuly or unsuccessfully tried regarding their guest services programs? Thanks for creating this forum for feedback and the guest services program! God Bless!

    JT,
Thank you for your thoughts. I agree that we can do a few more things to help first time guests feel welcomed. The first time information class is a very great idea – we are talking about these things, but it is good to have reinforcement of others who would see the benefit in these things. We have, indeed, talked to other churches about their Guest Services strategies and things that they’ve done to help make first time guests feel welcomed. I appreciate you taking the time to comment.
